Norbert Schaaf, Chairman of the Board of the Federal Association for Security Technology (BHE), has been elected as Chairman of Cenelec TC 79.  Mr. Schaaf was congratulated on his appointment formally by Euralarm.

The Technical Committee 79 deals with alarm systems, including the definition of performance standards for alarm systems for intruder and hold-up alarm systems, access control systems, periphery protection systems and CCTV systems. These systems can be used for providing a local or remote alarm, calling private guards, social assistance, fire brigade or police force and recording and transmission of dated or undated information, sounds, pictures of places and people for surveillance purposes.

Euralarm and its members, including Mr. Schaaf’s BHE as an ‘association member’, are very active in the development of standards in both Cenelec & IEC TC 79 and have a genuine interest in the productive work of the Technical Committees.

Mr. Schaaf also holds the position of Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Security Essen Fair.

Euralarm congratulated Mr Schaaf on his appointment formally by letter earlier and wishes him every success in his new appointment .
