Mitie Total Security Management was the big winner at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards held in London recently.

Mitie’s Jason Costello won the prestigious Security Manager of the Year prize and the company also walked away with the Best Deployment of Lone Worker Technology for its work with Northumbrian Water.

Now in their fifth year, the awards Headline sponsored by Hanwha Techwin Europe and First Response Group recognised the best in the worlds of security and fire safety. Funnyman Jimmy Carr returned for a second year to host the evening at the Hilton on Park Lane attended by 1,000 guests; with 28 categories to get through, his quickfire comic delivery was ideal.

Other winners included Wilson James as Security Guarding Company of the Year, Total Integrated Solutions for Combined Security and Fire Solution of the Year and CornerStone Independent Security Consultants, which scooped the Security Consultancy of the Year award.
