The Security Institute announced the winner of The John Aplin Award at its annual Christmas Curry Night on Tuesday December 17th.

The John Aplin Award is presented to the Student of the Year who has achieved the highest marks in the Certificate of Security Management during 2013. The finalists were Neil Littler, Andrew Moore, Lee Trumper, Pete Goode, Keith Denton, Jodie Acty, Kelereng Busang and Gerrard Isherwood. The winner was Lee Trumper who achieved 100% in the Certificate of Security Management Course from the September 2012 intake.

Security Institute Chairman Emma Shaw CSyP commented: "The John Aplin Award is presented to the Student of the Year and this year we are making the presentation to Lee who achieved an incredible 100% in the Certificate of Security Management Course. I want to congratulate Lee and all of the finalists who we recognise for their academic achievements."

The Institute Certificate in Security Management is the Institute's own qualification, internationally recognised and resulting in a BTEC Level 3 Professional Award in Security Management, awarded by Edexcel. It is designed to promote and recognise the knowledge and ability of candidates currently employed or aspiring to employment in the private and public security profession.
