Gunnebo: Version 2.3 of the integrated electronic security SMI Server system
Gunnebo announced the launch of version 2.3 of the integrated electronic security SMI Server system. SMI Server is made up of several modules for managing all the electronic security functions of one or several sites: access control, intrusion detection, CCTV systems and supervision. This version boasts a range of new features and functions, concerning the operation, the field equipment and the interface.
SMI Server: optimising the electronic security management with a single system for multifunction supervision. SMI Server meets the management and supervision requirements of electronic security. The system is built around a database and a number of "intelligent" field terminals for handling information in real time, either locally or remotely. Management is centralised via a customisable software interface. SMI Server comes in a modular format, meaning that the solution can be tailored to meet the needs of every company, every security level and requirement and every site - whether it be an individual site or part of a multi-site architecture:
- Access Control module: SMI Server manages a comprehensive access control system for regulating, managing and controlling the movements of people and vehicles. It integrates a number of identification technologies that are currently available on the market
- Intrusion Detection module: The system can be used to supervise intrusion or technical alarms triggered at the sites under surveillance
- CCTV module: SMI Server includes a feature for managing images associated with certain events so that information can be analysed effectively and relevantly
- External Interface module: SMI Server is compatible and/or can be interfaced with external applications and systems.
This way, it can be used to manage additional functions and services (guard tours, visitors and time and attendance). SMI Server has been built around the very latest performance technology. It is both flexible and upgradable, making it easier to implement it in complex multi-site architectures. The SMI Server system can be used in industrial and service site environments: airports, nuclear power stations, military zones, public services, administrative buildings, business centres, embassies, universities, etc.
