L-3 Explosives Detection System Receives EU Approval

L-3 Security & Detection Systems announced that its eXaminer XLB explosives detection system (EDS) has passed the European Union Commission Regulation Standard 3 for Aviation Safety under the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Common Evaluation Programme of Security Equipment (CEP). The system was successfully tested by the Service Technique de l'Aviation Civile (STAC), the engineering department of France's aviation regulatory agency. more

Aviation Security Milestone Achieved One Month Ahead of Schedule

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that 100 percent of passengers on flights within or bound for the United States are now being checked against government watchlists - fulfilling a key 9/11 Commission recommendation a month ahead of schedule. The TSA reached 100 percent watch list matching for all domestic airlines on June 22. more
