ONVIF invites to attend a Panel Discussion & Networking Breakfast at IFSEC 2012, where ONVIF representatives will discuss current possibilities and challenges of IP video, an overview of IP standards initiatives, examine the influence and impact of standards on the market and look ahead to the future of IP surveillance standards. ONVIF will also provide updates from our recent network video interoperability event at ISC West in Las Vegas.

ONVIF, the standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced that it held its annual meeting in Shenzhen, China in November, where speakers highlighted the progress of interoperability standards around the globe.
Hosted at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Shenzhen, ONVIF's annual meeting was organized in conjunction with the CPSE 2011 trade show, where ONVIF also held two networking events to provide an update to the industry on ONVIF's work in furthering IP interoperability standards.

ONVIF announced today that it will hold the ONVIF 2011 annual meeting Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Shenzhen, China. This annual gathering will provide a forum for ONVIF's 340 member companies to hear about key initiatives for 2012 and details of ONVIF's technical roadmap.

ONVIF, the global leading standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced today that it is streamlining the user experience of its interoperability specification by developing a Profile concept so users can more easily identify interoperable solutions to deploy within their organizations.
The Profile concept will enable end users to easily identify features that are supported by a profile without requiring them to have extensive technical knowledge of the specific version of the ONVIF specification.

Under this global interface standard, Basler's partners, distributors, and end users can harness the full potential of network video technology, and benefit from easy integration and reduced total cost. In addition, Basler aims to facilitate the changeover from analog to digital camera technology. Basler has already begun developing ONVIF-compatible products.

ONVIF's networking event at the IFSEC drew approximately 80 integrators, end users, consultants and manufacturers who attended to hear about ONVIF's success in promoting a global standard for the interface of IP security products. ONVIF also released the group's first Application Programmer's Guide at IFSEC, a document designed to aid programmers in integrating ONVIF conformant devices into specific applications.

ONVIF, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, recently held its fourth developers’ plug fest at Canon’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. In total, 65 engineers from 26 companies gathered from all over the world to test the interoperability of their products with the ONVIF specification implemented. The objective of ONVIF’ developers plug fest is to ensure that end-users will be able to select from ONVIF conformant products from different vendors to work together on their network.
