Albert is a new concept in CCTV Systems, merging Intelligent Video Analytics with operational ease and providing optimal viewing to operators and recording systems. ObjectVideo and Mirasys Partner for Video Analysis

ObjectVideo and Mirasys announced that they have entered into a patent license agreement. The licensee, Mirasys, is now able to sell network video recorders (NVRs) that include functionality covered by ObjectVideo patents, as well as certain video management software applications which are sold alongside NVRs as a part of an end-to-end surveillance solution. This worldwide, non-transferable, non-exclusive, royalty-bearing agreement allows Mirasys to offer more effective solutions to its customers while still complying with certain patents held by ObjectVideo. more

Multi-Standard Software

Geutebruck's new multi-standard software does not only allows all M-JPEG and H.264 based standard digital compression processes – including specialist video surveillance ones like MPEG4 CCTV, H264 CCTV – to be used in the same system. It also supports Onvif-compliant IP cameras and 16/9 HD-format cameras as well as analogue, digital and megapixel ones. In addition, this ‘omnibrid’ multi-standard video processing provides real-time signal trans-coding, which allows IP cameras without any special integral functions to be used for the manufacturer’s video analysis processes. more

BSIA reports an increase in the use of Video Content Analysis

An increasing number of people are using Video Content Analysis (VCA) as a security measure, according to research conducted by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA). In its research the BSIA investigated how often installers and manufacturers supply VCA in their solutions. VCA is the automatic analysis of CCTV images to create useful information about the content. It has a wide range of uses from the detection of intruders, left packages and wrongly parked vehicles to counting people entering or leaving an area. more
