The transition periods for two EN standards will soon be coming to an end. As of April 1 2011, a conformity assessment procedure in accordance with the harmonized standards EN 54-16 (for the construction products of fire alarm systems and microphones) and EN 54-24 (for speakers), will be required by law for the components of voice alarm systems and is to be carried out by an organization authorized to do so. more
EN 54 compliant voice alarm systems
TOA presented their EN 54 certified VM-3000 series compact public address and voice alarm systems at Security Essen 2010. The company did also show their EN 54-24 certified speakers including the TOA PC-1867FC flush-mounted ceiling and the BS-680FC wall-mounted public address speakers. TOA's fully EN 54-4 certified power supply with the VX-2000DS at its centre was also on display. more
Voice alarm system installed at Halifax's Shay Stadium
SigNET's LS voice alarm system has been installed at Halifax's newly renovated Shay Stadium. In a project costing £4.5 million, the East Stand has been completely transformed to include 3,500 seats and a fabulous new banqueting suite overlooking the pitch.
