Intelleflex announced that Julie England, former VP and general manager of RFID at Texas Instruments, has joined Intelleflex’s Board of Directors.

“Julie is a strong leader with great operational experience and we look forward to benefiting from her insights and experiences as a member of Intelleflex’s board,” said Peter Mehring, Intelleflex’s President and CEO. “We look to Julie’s fresh perspective and the added dimension it brings to Intelleflex’s board. ”

At Texas Instruments, Julie was responsible for the overall strategy and leading TI’s RFID business, which was the leader in asset identification and secure contactless products. Previously, Julie led the business unit which delivered custom high-performance UltraSPARC microprocessors to Sun Microsystems. She became a vice president in 1994. Prior to 1994, she held leadership positions in engineering, manufacturing, quality and business management. Julie is a nationally recognized business and technology leader. She received the 2004 Henry Laurence Gantt Medal by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Management Association. She was honored with the Texas Tech University Distinguished Engineer award and inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame. In 2008 she was one of the Top 15 Women Innovators in Business by PINK magazine, the national magazine for professional women. In 2009, she was awarded the Distinguished Information Sciences Award by the Association of Information Technology Professionals.
