Bosch provides state-of-the-art technology for Dedeman, the rapidly expanding leader of the Romanian home improvement and construction market. Dedeman's many large stores require a comprehensive solution that ensures protection and comfort to both staff and costumers as well as security against theft and fraud. The volume of this project presents a challenge Bosch is eager to meet.

With 24 operating stores, each between 6,000 and 18,000 square meters in size and a portfolio more than 45,000 products Dedeman is Romania's most successful DIY retailer. Apart from selling products such as tools, heating and cooling equipment, plumbing, gardening, furniture or electronics, Dedeman offers a full range of services including counseling and consulting, logistics and technical support as well as transport.

Providing safety and security to the rapidly growing number of high value stores with a large number of employees is a challenge for which Dedeman's security manager Marcel Blajut selected Bosch as the best choice: "There are a lot of reasons which determined us to choose Bosch, but mainly, we chose Bosch because it covers the whole range of security systems, because of the equipments' quality, the rapid response to our needs and last but not least, because they provided us with integrated solutions for our demands."

So far ten of the Dedeman stores have been fully equipped with fire detection, intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control and public address systems from Bosch. And in many cases the implemented technology has numerous functions: Remote Call Stations for example provide live speech and announcements through EVAC loudspeakers - additionally they are used for background music and pre-recorded commercial messages. In case of an emergency, pre-recorded emergency messages can be broadcasted.

The remaining stores that are already operational are in the progress of getting upgraded and future stores will include Bosch's safety and security solutions from the start.

A comprehensive security and safety solution requires an integrative system to monitor and control all units - the Building Integration System (BIS) can serve this purpose and enables the security staff to access full information via a single user interface with high reliability and short response time to events. Once the development is complete and access control, intrusion, fire and public address systems are included it could be the largest integrated system in Romania.

The whole system is designed to grow following the customer needs and to become a high scale integrated system. The combination of reliability, ease of use, very low false alarm rate and three years guarantee allowed Dedeman to reduce expenses for maintenance and human guards while offering a very high security level.
