With Sinorix H2O Jet, the Siemens Building Technologies Division launches a highly efficient extinguishing solution, which controls or extinguishes open fires reliably with water mist. The new solution by Siemens was awarded the Innovation Award in the category Fire Protection at the international trade fair Expoprotection 2010 in Paris.

Siemens Building Technologies Division expands its comprehensive portfolio of fire safety solutions with the water mist system Sinorix H2O Jet. It was developed to protect individual objects (e.g. turbines and generators, production facilities or painting lines) and their close surroundings and it is suitable to control or even extinguish open and fast-growing fires.

The extinguishing principle of Sinorix H2O Jet is simple: Water mist absorbs heat from the fire. The required cooling effect is achieved with a water droplet size of only 150-200 µm which is calculated individually for the specific object that needs to be protected. The small droplet size ensures relatively low water consumption with maximum effect at the same time. Sinorix H2O Jet works as a low-pressure system with a pressure of less than 16 bar. It does, however, achieve the same effectiveness as a high-pressure system due to the combination of nitrogen and water. With its nozzles, which are based on the naval-principle and which are especially developed and patented, Sinorix H2O Jet can extinguish fires in objects at a distance of up to eight metres - the object is therefore easily accessible for operation, maintenance or repair work, yet ideally protected.
