Optex takes a multi-layer approach to security

06.09.2022 - Optex takes a multi-tiered approach to security with new LiDAR upgrade and an indoor detector launch to give installers two sensors in one!

Optex September 2022
Visit Optex at Security Essen (20.9. – 23.9.2022): Hall 6 stand 6C39. From intruder alarm applications to high security sites and critical infrastructure solutions, Optex will demonstrate how the different detection technologies available can improve the security system.

Optex, the leading global sensor manufacturer, is at Security Essen to showcase a range of leading technologies and how they can be combined to create an effective, multi-layered security system to protect perimeters, inside and out.

Among the technologies on display will be OPTEX’s award-winning security LiDARs Redscan Pro which can create virtual perimeters or protect whole facades up to 100m in length. It has recently been updated to include a dynamic event filtering feature, which allows for alerts to be configured to meet specific detection criteria or logic.

Such is the intelligence of Optec’s technology that in a datacentre environment, 2D LiDAR sensors can create customisable detection areas to effectively ‘cocoon’ the server units and create different detection zones to allow maintenance to be conducted while still keeping the data secure.

As well as the upgraded LiDAR Redscan Pro, Optex is also launching FlipX - a new range of indoor intrusion detectors that feature an innovative new lens that can be ‘flipped’ to provide both narrow and wide detection in a single sensor, effectively giving installers the benefit of two detectors in one. It also includes a bespoke pyroelectric sensor that adapts to the human shape, to reduce false alarms from pets and small animals, and a refined spherical lens for very sharp detection.

Throughout the events Optex will be running live demonstrations of its solutions, including its Intelligent Visual Monitoring solution. The solution effectively ‘bridges’ all components of a security setup to create a visually verified monitored solution via the Secured Cloud, enabling users to verify alarms within seconds wherever they are.

Masaya Kida, Managing Director for Optex EMEA, says he is excited to be returning to Essen: “We have a comprehensive range of products, from LiDARs to Fibre optic sensors, with proven performance for every application and need, from residential all the way to solutions for critical infrastructure”

Johannes Faber, Regional Sales Manager for Optex, is also excited about showcasing the company’s talent: “Our business has grown significantly in the DACH region, and we have expanded our local team with a new technical pre-sales engineer to support our project business. I am looking forward to meeting new and existing customers and discussing future projects.”

The wider European team will be on stand, including the sales teams from, the Benelux region and Eastern Europe as well as the Nordics. Optex EMEA’s product management, technical and marketing teams will also be there across the four days of the show.
