At their global press conference in Tokyo, Panasonic announced the introduction of the 3rd generation cameras of the i-PRO Series. Box type network cameras that ensure high compression by H.264 high profile format, the WV-SP306, WV-SP305 and the WV-SP302 are scheduled for release in June, 2010. In addition, Panasonic also releases fixed dome network cameras equipped with 3.6 variable focal auto iris lens, the WV-SF336, WV-SF335 and the WV-SF332 in July, 2010.

Recently, security cameras are used not only for surveillance, but also for marketing purposes where higher quality of services is required. To meet these various demands, Panasonic reinforces its lineup by introducing 6 new models of network cameras based on its i-PRO SmartHD concept. The new i-PRO SmartHD cameras are all equipped with Panasonic's proprietary platform UniPhier, and with its H.264 high profile format, 1280(H)×960(V) 30fps or 720p HD video (1280(H)×720(V)) 30fps transmission is possible. Also, 2 kinds of H.264 encoded video can be transmitted simultaneously. For example, for Panasonic network recorder, 1.3 megapixel 30 ips recording is possible, and for multi-screen display, another video stream can be transmitted by VGA resolution so that it reduces total usage of the network bandwidth.
JPEG images can also be transmitted depending on the necessity, so appropriate transmission way can be selected to reduce total bit rate according to the system requirement. With the combination of 1/3 MOS sensor and 3D Digital Noise Reduction, 0.3 lux high sensitivity in color is
realized. The new i-PRO SmartHD cameras are also equipped with Panasonic Super Dynamic technology and face detection capability. With this bombination, faces can be detected automatically even under strong backlight condition and the face can also be seen clearly with Super Dynamic technology.
Furthermore, the new i-PRO SmartHD cameras are so environment-friendly that it has reduced 45% of the power consumption compared with conventional models. The i-PRO SmartHD camera not only improves its image quality and capability, but it also contributes to the operators benefit in that it is much more simple and easier to operate or have all the settings done. This is time saving for the operators. Panasonic will continuously make efforts to provide the best system solution to the market where requirements are diverse depending on the situations.
