GIT SECURITY News April 2018

Dear Reader,

About a month ago I was discussing Artificial Intelligence AI here and how clever systems will empower us to use video data for more than just security. Many projects and installations already use video analytics tools and most users are happy with the performance. One example that demonstrates the power of video data in a retail environment is the In-Store Analytics developed by Bosch. The system provides merchandising and operations teams with reliable customer traffic insights to improve operations, customer engagement and sales.

An important aspect of this solution is that the data is anonymous and sent to the cloud independent of the actual video streams, protecting the privacy of shoppers in the stores. In times of GDPR influencing our business more and more, this is good news for the users.

Best regards

Heiko Baumgartner for GIT's safety and security team
