GIT SECURITY News February 2019

Dear Reader,

I must admit that in the past some video analytics solutions presented to potential customers over-promised and under-delivered. I strongly believe that these times are over and more and more proven solutions hit the market.

In the interview with Paul Such, Avigilon's EMEA Sales Director, he explains how Avigilon’s patented self-learning video analytics works and how video analytics combined with AI has the power to overcome some of the biggest challenges our industry faces.

Another example for intelligent video technology helping to overcome challenges are the next generation video solutions from Hikvision that are using AI to help city authorities to reduce congestion and deliver major time savings for drivers.

If you are more interested in a retail application of intelligent video, then have a look at how the Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo strives to provide an enjoyable and safe shopping experience for both, customers as well as their own employees. Thanks to the Panasonic face matching server Jumbo has been proclaimed the safest store in the Netherlands.

Best regards

Heiko Baumgartner for GIT's safety and security team
