SeeTec, a provider of video management solutions, publishes new releases of its products twice a year and, at the end of May, the R12 version of the company's Cayuga and BVI products were announced. In Cayuga, an improved map mode offers a better overview of a video project. It is now easier to locate cameras or alarms, no matter what zoom level has been chosen. Cameras can be configured in groups and the icon library for maps has been extended. A new 'field of view' function for cameras can be configured to show exactly which area the camera is covering and any alarm associated with a camera can be easily identified by its icon turning red. Smoother video feeds of high-res streams (4k and higher) as well as streams with a high frame rate for installations that secure public spaces are the default preference for video feeds. With PTZ cameras, the user can always switch to low latency mode to minimize the time lag. Many other improvements provide easier operation: the redesigned alarm search panel shows more information at a glance and, when expanded, presents the details in a much more straightforward way; the SeeTec analytics server 3D now offers a newly implemented 2D mode to address facade detection applications; license plate recognition can detect even more license plate types and new analytics tools for people counting or for left behind objects are available with deeply integrated analytics software from our technology partner Forlan.
SeeTec BVI also sees a redesigned search mode that offers new functionality and sorting options. In logistics applications, more than 320 thousand pictures per day can be handed over to 3rd party systems. Customers with a valid software maintenance agreement can already download and install the update to Cayuga R12 and BVI R12. The installation can be done either manually or via the built in auto updater, which for the very first time can be used to always keep SeeTec BVI up to date.
