The latest version of the Samsung iPOLiS Mobile app now has a host of new features designed to make it even easier to remotely gain access to live images in HD via a smartphone or tablet and avoid unauthorised access to confidential data.

iPOLiS Mobile v2.6 enables the direct remote monitoring of multiple HD cameras at multiple sites and negates the need to access the images via a recording device.

“We have made the iPOLiS Mobile app as secure, but also as user friendly as possible, which is why we have also added a ‘favourites’ feature,” said Tim Biddulph, Head of Product and Marketing for Samsung Techwin Europe. “It is a feature that is likely to be popular with security personnel who are responsible for a large number of sites. Loss Prevention Managers, for example, may wish to make favourites of cameras located at stores they particularly want to keep a close eye on.”

iPOLiS Mobile v2.6 also supports audio and is fully compatible with all Samsung IP network cameras and domes, including full pan/tilt/zoom models. In addition to the live monitoring of images, iPOLiS Mobile v2.6 allows authorised users to gain access to camera SD cards, DVRs and NVRs, to search and play back recorded video of any incidents. With an option to display favourite camera, DVR and NVR profiles in a tile format, users can effortlessly switch from live or recorded images available from multiple cameras or recorders.

The app is free to download from iTunes and the Android market. It can be set up in less than a minute. An auto detection feature makes it easy to search for new devices, after which users are able to view streamed video from selected cameras via wireless or 3G and 4G networks.
