Wiesemann & Theis: model with optical 100BaseFX network terminal

Wiesemann & Theis: model with optical 100BaseFX network terminal. The family of highspeed com-servers for network integration of serial devices from Wiesemann & Theis now boasts the addition of a model with optical 100BaseFX network terminal.

In addition to the – compared with copper wire transmission – very long possible cable length of up to 2,000 m, optical network couplings also offer the advantage of virtually unlimited galvanic isolation.

Especially in environments with high noise potential, but also where there are copious, cross-building connections, the risk of communication problems and hardware damage is reduced to a minimum even ahead of time.

Serving as the optical medium are ST-connected duplex multimode 50/125 μm or 62.5/125 μm glass fibres.

To cover a range of applications, a COM port redirector and an OPC server for Windows environments are included. Implementation of direct socket communication via TCP or UDP into the user’s own applications is assisted by complete documentation and programming examples in various programming languages.

HVI Light Plus for Lightning Protection Applications

When installing bare, uninsulated air-termination conductors on the roof, the separation distance to electrical and metal systems installed under the roof surface must be maintained in accordance with the current lightning protection standard DIN EN 62305-3. Cable installations, pipe systems or metal parts are frequently installed under the roofing in direct proximity to the air-termination system / down conductor, thus posing a proximity issue. The solution is isolated air-termination systems with high-voltage-resistant, insulated down conductors.
