Siemens Building Technologies: interoperability theme. Siemens Building Technologies will be exhibiting at Ifsec 2008, using this international exhibition to present a comprehensive range of security and fire safety products, including innovative security solutions.

The company’s stand 8048 (Hall 6) will be themed around interoperability, demonstrating how the four key areas of video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection and fire safety, can operate together from a central point. Interoperability is a key focus for Siemens, offering the capacity to drive and manage different security and safety functions through a single front-end system.

This demonstrates an understanding of the market requirements to move away from a product sector specific approach to one which looks at a security and/or safety requirement and identifies the mix of products from the various disciplines which can work together to provide the best solution. This will be demonstrated on the stand with applications ranging in size and criticality – from a small petrol station application right through to a major international airport – as well as with real life reference projects, thereby highlighting the scalability of the company’s product offering.

The central display will feature “Siveillance”, a video analytic platform offering a comprehensive set of security solutions created to help customers secure and monitor large scale critical infrastructure and public spaces. Connected to this will be Command and Control Integrated Solutions, an innovative solution that secures control of large scale areas such as cities, major events, power plants and transportation networks, and the interoperability capability of which includes connecting to emergency services, police, and transportation control rooms for city-wide control.

Another focus to demonstrate the interoperability approach will be MM8000, a Danger Management station providing centralised overview and control of fire and security within a building for protection of people and assets. Amongst the products on show will be some well established brands along with some new names as part of Siemens’ ongoing commitment to research and development.

Also on show will be Sistore intelligent video products, Sipass access control systems, Intrunet alarm management systems and Sinteso fire safety products.
