The Hardware Competence Center was set up because the data and performance specifications of network cameras as stated by manufacturers are often measured under different conditions and are not always reliable in practice. Town of Harrison Police Department in New Jersey has vastly improved their performance by deploying a city-wide wireless surveillance system based on IndigoVision's IP video technology. Harnessing the power of IP Video has meant the department's incident response has improved and the percentage of investigations resulting in arrests and prosecutions has significantly increased.

Axis today forecasts interim net sales for the first half-year 2011 of approximately MSEK 1,550. This is equivalent to a sales increase of 17 percent in Swedish kronor and approximately 30 percent in local currencies.
The sales result for the half-year is thus in line with the previously communicated long-term growth expectations, but is lower than the latest compilation of the market's expectations produced by SME Direkt*.

Basler begins the series production of two new CMOS sensor IP camera models following the series production start of their new CCD box camera models last December. The two new Basler IP Camera models with CMOS sensors feature 720p HD and 5 megapixel resolutions. A third model with 1080p Full HD resolution is due to follow next month.

Kian Cord Company (KCC) is a private sector manufacturing company located about 400 km south west of Tehran in a suburb of Malayer city in the Hamedan province. The main product of KCC is tire cord fabric, which is supplied to major local and international tire manufacturers. Although KCC's 28 hectare production facilities - far from the city - may be considered as a candidate site for a comprehensive CCTV system, that was not the main reason why the KCC management was convinced to invest in an appropriate CCTV system.
