PureTech Systems, manufacturer of video analytic software, today announced the integration of the Ulisse Compact PTZ camera from Videotec and its PureActiv wide area surveillance product. The integration, performed at PureTech's lab in Phoenix, AZ enables the camera to automatically follow targets using PureTech's PTZ Auto Follow capability.

Additionally, when used with the PureActiv command and control, the integration provides the ability to direct the camera to an exact latitude and longitude by simply clicking on the map based user interface or by automatic cueing by a sensor such as a RADAR, fence sensor, and PureActiv fixed camera video analytics.

"In today's world, security personnel are faced with more and more advanced sensors that they have to monitor and control with their existing staff. This integration is intended to make it easier for security folks by providing them a simple means to control the Ulisse Compact PTZ" explains Eric Olson, PureTech Vice President of Marketing. "If the security operator desires to look at the front gate, he can merely click on the front gate on the map-based user interface, and the camera will steer to that exact location."

Additionally, the integration includes PureTech's PTZ Auto Follow feature, whereby the Ulisse PTZ camera can follow a target automatically without any user interaction. This feature allows the system to perform hands-free camera control during an intrusion event, providing the security personnel the freedom to coordinate a response. "An aspect that is often overlooked in today's perimeter protection, is how to efficiently track the intruder after they are detected", explains Gianni Viero, Videotec Vice President of Sales. "You need an agile PTZ, appropriate illumination and a high level of control. The Ulisse Compact PTZ with Infrared Illumination, combined with PureTech's auto follow capabilities provides users a very powerful sensor for these types of situations."

The integration is available to new and existing PureActiv customers that have the desire to add the Ulisse camera to their perimeter protection suite. Facilities currently utilizing Videotec's camera with another video management or NVR system can also augment their systems with the PTZ Auto Follow capability through the use of an add-on server or edge device.
