wilkon was founded in 1989. Today, about 180 employees are working for wilkon in Germany and Austria. Security services focused on the hotel industry are our main business. However, we extended our range of services constantly, especially our services related to the protection of property.

Since 2003 wilkon focused more and more on video surveillance technology, intrusion detection and access control systems. As a result, in 2013 wilkon Systems GmbH & Co. KG was founded as a spin- off, focused on security hard- and software (distribution, planning, installation and technical support). Together with our partners within the wilkon group (wilkon e.K. and wilkon Akademie GmbH & Co. KG), we provide integrated security solutions: commissioning, maintenance and support / training for security hardware, as well as our manned guarding, key holding and alarm response services for the hospitality industry, logistics, SME (Retail, facility management etc.), construction companies, public institutions and private customers.

We are always looking to enhance our services and capabilities. Therefore, we are engaged in research and development. One project in a similar field as the proposed topic was SiNafaR (Safe Navigation for autonomous Robotic Systems), a 3-year project in cooperation with Fraunhofer IIS, EADS (Airbus), ZfT and the University of Würzburg. SiNafaR addressed the surveillance of a container harbor supported by a cooperative team of partially autonomous UGVs and UAVs. This project was funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology.
