The Mobotix Solution Platform is Launched
Raising the Standard with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning
Mobotix is making the next big advance in intelligent video technology, furthering its mission statement of going "Beyond Human Vision". By launching its Mobotix 7 smart solution platform and the M73 IoT camera that uses it, the company is once again cementing its position as a global leader in this technology. The latest generation of Mobotix video cameras offers a whole new set of functions plus application solutions based on deep learning, opening up new possibilities far beyond traditional video security. Even at its launch, the M73 comes with more than 15 apps integrated into its camera software, which can be used to optimize business processes in practically any industry. Mobotix partners and their customers can now even develop their own apps or have them configured and certified by Mobotix. The Partner Society, a successful and steadily growing collaboration platform between Mobotix and its technology and solution partners, actively supports the development of new apps for Mobotix 7 cameras. The range is growing dynamically in response to customers' needs — so virtually any current or future market requirement can (or will be able to) be met by a Mobotix solution.
The most intelligent, advanced and innovative solution platform from Mobotix was presented to over 500 international technology and sales partners at this year's Mobotix Global Partner Conference (GPC) in Mainz. "Mobotix 7 is the world's first decentralized and secure modular IoT video system based on deep learning modules," explains Hartmut Sprave, Chief Technology Officer at Mobotix. "The Mobotix 7 platform and its new range of intelligent apps will revolutionize numerous IoT processes — not only for us, but for our technology partners and customers in various markets too," says Sprave.
Intelligent Solutions for a Wide Range of Vertical Markets
By combining image sensors and environmental sensors with AI-based analytics, industrial enterprises can increase their production efficiency and improve preventive maintenance or fire prevention measures. For transport applications, the integrated facial recognition, traffic monitoring and object recognition capabilities ensure that drivers are immediately aware of hazards, thus improving road safety for drivers, passengers and other road users.
M73: A Complete High-Performance Video System with Pre-Installed Apps
The new Mobotix M73 IoT camera features high-octane processor technology, meaning it easily provides the latest state of the art in camera performance, such as 4K resolution at 30 fps or 120 dB WDR (Wide Dynamic Range). In keeping with current demands, the camera is also highly energy efficient: Despite a total power consumption of less than 25 watts (PoE+), each M73 is a complete video system that features 8-GB DVR as standard — so no additional servers or storage devices are required. The pre-installed apps come with a 30-day free trial, after which users can purchase a license for each app as required. According to Mobotix, only high-quality professional market and partner solutions are integrated, all of which have been tested and certified by Mobotix as meeting the highest standards in terms of quality and cyber security.
This opens up countless applications for use — for example, one of the Mobotix camera apps can detect when a building is in danger of becoming overcrowded. In this case, the camera immediately and automatically triggers a diversion for any further persons wishing to enter the building, thus reliably preventing accidents and panic. There are no limits to the applications the camera can be used for, and the solution platform is particularly suitable for sectors such as building engineering, energy, civil engineering, industry and production, public services, retail, healthcare, and education.
Mobotix Focuses on Smart Video Technologies with Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning
The examples given above show that intelligent video monitoring means much more for Mobotix than simply recording footage and analyzing it. With the help of selected strategic partners, the company aims to develop a multitude of other solutions based on artificial intelligence to help predict events and facilitate the early introduction of effective countermeasures aimed at protecting the environment, buildings, systems, people or animals.
"Functions based on AI and deep learning are playing an increasingly important role in camera solutions — but with Konica Minolta, we have a partner that provides leading technology. We also collaborate with other leading companies and institutions when it comes to AI," explains Mobotix CTO Hartmut Sprave. "Thanks to our systems now being more open and our collaboration with strategic partners, the video security market is being expanded to include new solutions for a wide range of industries," says Sprave, adding: "By developing and marketing highly specialized apps, we offer customers around the world access to applications that are perfectly tailored to their requirements. The profit models resulting from this new technology are opening up almost unlimited opportunities for us and our partners in the market."
Mobotix 7 Camera Apps: Flexible Tools for Bespoke Solutions
"With Mobotix 7, we are launching one of the best IoT platforms for apps on the market. It meets the requirements of a wide range of industries, including transport, retail, industry and public services, as well as fire prevention," says Mobotix CEO Thomas Lausten, adding: "Thanks to the Mobotix 7 platform, the M73 and all subsequent IoT camera models will have virtually no limits when it comes to app solutions. It goes without saying that protecting our customers' data remains our top priority in all of these endeavors. The Mobotix systems had to have the highest level of cybersecurity in order to be released on the market in accordance with global standards such as ONVIF," says Lausten.
The Mobotix 7 and M73 provide apps developed by Mobotix and its technology partners with functions such as the ability to recognize faces, characteristics, age, mood or sex, as well as specialized custom solutions. "When we unveiled the Mobotix 7 and the M73, the feedback we received from our technology partners was overwhelming," says Lausten. "We expect to make many more innovative developments in intelligent applications that can then be marketed worldwide."
