High security modular panel systems manufacturer Securiclad has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of a new project coordinator.

Securiclad has taken on Mark Sutherland in a newly-created project coordinator role to support the sales team as demand for the company’s products hits an all-time high.

Mark, from Newcastle upon Tyne, will be a dedicated point of contact for customers, managing all aspects of after-sales service to ensure customer requirements are fully met, while overseeing the timely delivery of orders. Highly experienced in both engineering and project management, Mark has a BSc in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering as well as a Foundation Degree in Subsea Engineering.

Prior to joining Securiclad, he worked in the oil and gas industry for several high-profile companies such as Aberdeen-based well intervention specialist  Altus Intervention and global oil engineering firm National Oilwell Varco.

Securiclad’s systems are certified to Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175 Security Rating (SR) 4 and are approved for UK Government use by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). They are used to protect high risk areas in the data centre, government, utilities, military, nuclear, healthcare and financial sectors.

A string of major contract wins in 2016 led to a 58 per cent rise in sales, making it the most successful year in Securiclad’s history.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: “The physical security sector has always interested me. It’s constantly adapting to provide innovative solutions to threats posed daily in today’s world such as acts of terrorism, industrial sabotage and theft - all of which require higher levels of security to overcome them.

“Securiclad is a growing company with an innovative, sought after product range and this is a fantastic opportunity to apply my years of experience to a role which will help to enhance the company’s service capabilities.”

Mike McColl, managing director of Securiclad, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team.

“His combination of engineering expertise and project management skills will be invaluable in helping us to manage our growth while continuing to provide high quality products and offering an exceptional level of customer care. 2016 was a landmark year for Securiclad but we are not resting on our laurels, as this investment in our team demonstrates.”

Securiclad can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to an existing site and is pre-finished, negating the need for hot and wet trade requirements. The modular panel systems have both internal and external applications and can be used to form a standalone ‘room’, kiosk or partition.

Securiclad can be offered as a turnkey solution, via approved and certified personnel or on a supply-only basis for contractors who prefer to install the system themselves. Securiclad can also be supplied fully assembled as a smaller kiosk, guard hut or small storage space.
