The industry specialist joins Wagner from Knorr-Bremse, where he was Sales Manager Japan in Tokyo and most recently Director Global Sales Hydraulics of Knorr-Bremse SfS GmbH in Munich. At Wagner, he succeeds Markus Kock, whose contract as Managing Director at Wagner Rail GmbH ends on March 31, 2024. Markus Kock, who has held the position as Managing Director of Wagner Deutschland GmbH since its foundation in 2020, will thus once again focus consistently on the further development of the core market Germany.
Werner Wagner, founder and Managing Director of the Wagner Group, looks forward to the upcoming cooperation. "Bernhard Weindl has many years of international experience in the railway market segment, which is so important for us, and we are looking forward to working with Mr. Weindl as well as Dr. Müller and Dr. Stahl to drive forward the expansion and further development of Wagner Rail GmbH in line with our Wagner.2026 strategy. Our objective in fire protection for rail transport is also to open up new markets in the sense of consistent internationalization. We have been able to achieve significant success here in recent years, and it is excellent that Mr. Weindl will continue on this path with us."
With specific fire protection solutions for rail vehicles, Wagner Rail was able to achieve an increase in performance of 16.7% in the past financial year compared to the same period of the previous year.
Wagner offers holistic fire protection solutions for rail transport. With the aspirating smoke detectors of the Titanus family, the portfolio includes deceptive alarm-proof fire detection systems for rapid detection of smoke gases. An innovative water mist system provides fire extinguishing in the passenger area; gas or aerosol extinguishing systems are used to protect the technical areas in sealed-off parts of the train or in technical containers. The various Wagner fire protection systems are often combined in rail vehicles and mobile applications, thus guaranteeing passengers a safe journey and the train operator an uninterrupted journey.
This is entirely in the spirit of Bernhard Weindl: "For more than 15 years, I have been fascinated by safety systems that make rail transport safe and sustainable. Wagner's innovative and holistic fire protection systems are the ideal solution for the high requirements in all railroad markets worldwide. I am very pleased to be able to make a valuable contribution, together with the entire Wagner Rail team, to ensuring that railroads continue to travel safely and sustainably in the future."
