Power of innovation and high customer focus formed the basis of this success. The company is currently investing 6 million Euro in a new production facility in Saxony-Anhalt.

UPM's sale of RFID business to Smartrac N.V. was completed on 31 March 2012 following clearance by all competent authorities. The RFID business consisting of three companies in Finland, the United States and China, has been transferred to the new owner. The deal was published on 22 December 2011.
UPM will become an indirect shareholder of Smartrac with a 10.6 percent economic interest through the company OEP Technologie B.V., a holding company controlled by One Equity Partners and one of the major shareholders of Smartrac.

Identive Group announced the acquisition of Polyright SA, a provider of identity management solutions for the education and healthcare markets based in Sion, Switzerland. The acquisition was made pursuant to an agreement executed on July 18, 2011 between Identive's Multicard AG subsidiary and polyright's co-owners, Securitas AG and the Kudelski Group.

ID MAX50.10-xE is an independently-working access control terminal for up to 9000 users with Ethernet interface. It checks access permissions offline, without a live connection to a host system. The integrated real time clock allows the management of temporal restrictions with up to 16 time slots. Events can be stored locally in a configurable event memory.
Alternatively, events can be immediately reported to a host system. Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or via an external DC power supply.
