Aug. Winkhaus: new generation of locking systems. Security, unlimited expandability and flexible changes of access authorisations are important requirements for modern, highly developed locking systems. Without these features, efficient, cost-effective and personnel-reducing facility management can no longer be realised. The BlueChip technology from Winkhaus offers precisely these characteristics, which are increasingly being demanded by facility managers.

This technology is the basis for a new generation of locking and access control systems. Wireless and fitted with an internal power supply in the locking cylinder, BlueChip provides unlimited flexibility for the design of locking systems. It also means no change for users; they will continue to use a key for opening and locking doors, if they have a corresponding authorisation, because the electronics in the locking cylinder recognises access authorisations that are encoded in a chip of the key.

Keys and Cylinders with an Electronic Profile

BlueChip keys and locks are preconfigured for a certain lock operation type at the factory. They are provided with an ‘electronic profile’ at the factory. This ‚electronic profile‘ makes it possible to define locking hierarchies (general master key, master key or group key), exactly as this is known with mechanical locking systems.

With BlueChip, however, an unlimited number of additional access authorisations can be defined, or immediately withdrawn, by using a PC-supported programme and a mobile terminal directly at the locking cylinder.

The loss of a key with a higher-level authorisation, for instance, poses absolutely no problem for the system, since the authorisation for that key can be simply withdrawn. A cost-intensive exchange of cylinders is therefore a thing of the past. The relocation of departments, or entire business units, to other parts of a building or a different location, no longer requires a replacement of the entire locking system.

The system is simply relocated along with the personnel. The electronic cylinder of the BlueChip system fits into every commercially available Europrofile lock, so that the old mechanical cylinders can simply be removed and replaced by such a cylinder.

Multi-functional Use

Thanks to the utilised transponder technology, the keys can also be used in combination with all Winkhaus online access control systems. This makes them multifunctional in their application and substantially broadens their deployment possibilities.

They can, for instance, be used for billing copier or canteen services, and also for opening parking lot barriers.

BlueChip is an easy to handle and future-oriented locking system that fully meets all demands for an efficient facility management.
