Bosch Security Systems: new wide-range conventional smoke detectors. Bosch Security Systems is redesigning its conventional 300 Series smoke detectors with enhanced performance and compatibility. With an operating voltage range of 8.5 to 30 VDC and the choice of different alarm resistances of 820 Ohms and 470 Ohms, the new series is compatible with Bosch as well as with third-party and OEM fire and intrusion panels.

Four-wire connection to panels and base sounder connection is also supported. The series comprises optical, heat, combined optical-heat and optical- chemical versions which, with a choice of mounting bases, suit a variety of applications. Besides small commercial industry, retail stores and institutional fire system installations, the detector also finds good use together with intrusion panels or in residential applications.

Adaptive Threshold

Signals from the detector’s sensors are continually analysed by built-in evaluation electronics. Linking the optical and chemical sensors means that an alarm will be triggered only if the signal combination corresponds to the detector’s programmed code field. This ensures extremely reliable operation, also under critical environmental conditions.

The response threshold (drift compensation) of the optical and chemical sensors is actively adjusted and therefore automatically adapted to changes in the environment and air pollution levels. The processing of the sensor signals uses rule-based algorithms to effectively distinguish between real fire situations and nuisance signals.

Staying Clean

Maintenance time and cost are reduced by the so-called Chamber Maid Function that enables easy cleaning. Ease of maintenance is further enhanced by the detector’s dust-repellent and cap construction.

Other features include activation of a remote external alarm display and a mechanical removal lock on the detector base that can be activated and deactivated.
